Last night at the music fest

Tonight was the last night of the season for the Little Yough Music :(
We're really going to miss going on Friday nights!
The kids had lots of fun playing with Madison and Ashylnn.

Cole enjoying his last Lakeside Creamery ice-cream of the year (probably)! Tonight it was a chocolate-raspberry truffle!

Butterflies

My butterfly "weed" garden was pretty popular today...and the joe-pye weed was getting lots of attention!

Tiger swallowtail

A very beautiful monarch...she was in good shape, so I'm guessing she hatched out recently emerged and will be on her way to Mexico soon!

A very rough looking female tiger swallowtail!

Another shot of the same monarch female.

Fun at Funland!

We went to enjoy the rainy day at Funland with Agnes and Grace. The kids had lots of fun playing the games in the arcade and were really excited to get to play some mini-golf. Luckily we were the only ones on the golf course 'cause the kids were really having fun running around and exploring the course. They did manage to hit a few balls...but mostly it was pushing them around....and running around.

Cole was having fun driving "Grandpa's Jeep"

Cole (with mommy's help) hit a hole in one on his very first hole!! I thought this would start us off on a pretty good game...but this was one of just a handful of times that he actually hit the ball. :) Gotta love little boys!

Golfing videos

Here are a few vidoes of our golfing adventure today.

Cole really had fun dropping his ball down the hole and watching it come out at the bottom.

Put-put fun!

They're such goofy kids!

They really had fun throwing their balls in the water and watching them slide down the grate.

Craftin' fun

I decided to try to get a start on the upcoming craft show season, and the kids decided to help with some gooey 'grunging' of some electric candle sticks. Surprisingly, they didn't make nearly as much of a mess as I had thought they would (especially considering the painting concoction had glue in it)!

Cole really gets serious when he's holding a paint brush...maybe he'll be an artist!

Goofy as always!

Baseball fun

Rylie has been talking a lot about playing baseball, so we finally found a tee ball bat and gloves for the kids...and she is really getting into it! Cole...as usual was off doing other things...or trying to interupt 'her game'. She told him on the way to school today that she might not be able to come to his birthday party (in December) because she might be off playing baseball!

So...baseball IS a contact sport!

He's such an ornery little guy!

Cole and his truck

Curtis cleaned out the gutters and had asked Cole to help pick up the debris...so Cole ran and got his Tonka truck for the job.

Picking apples

We decided that our apple tree needed some thinning out, so we picked some apples to give to "Uncle Sam" to feed the deer. Rylie was a lot of help and enjoyed herself....and as ususal Cole was more interested in doing anything else other than picking apples.

Kids at grandpa and grandma's

Grandma got these cute pics of the kids napping at her house a few weeks ago!

Since Granpa Rusty is very hard to find presents for, the kids decorated some picture frames for him as a birthday gift. Rylie really liked the project and was very excited to give them to Grandpa.

Fun in the tub at Grandpa and Grandma's!

Picking apples

We picked a few apples today from our tree in the yard...just for fun!

Rylie was really into playing the "apple game" that she made up..."you need to pick an apple and throw it down the bank and if it lands in the grass then you win"!

Cole tried out a few apples...they're pretty sour...but good for making pies!

Luna LOVES eating the apples, which I think is kinda strange for a dog...but she is a Lab and they apparently will eat anything! :)

She's always munching on the apples that fall...we have very few rotting on the ground this year thanks to her!

Jen's baby shower

We enjoyed a great afternoon at Amy's house for Jen's baby shower! She's due on November 2nd and her belly is getting big fast! Rylie thinks it is so cool that there is baby in her belly, and since this is her first pregnant friend, she has lots of questions about everything! We can't wait to meet their baby girl!

The girls (Rylie, Grace, and Madison) all gave Jen lots of help with opening her gifts...sometimes too much! :)

Rylie had tripped and was a little upset, but it ended up working out in her favor since she landed a spot on Jen's lap to help out with opening gifts.

Holding up one of the cute little onesies for the baby.

Amy and Ashylnn...what cuties!
