Go Rylie!
Rylie was recognized as one of the participants in the Accident Elementary Accelerated Reader Program!

She came home with this metal last week and didn't act like it was anything special, so we assumed she picked it out as a prize from school or maybe it was something all of the kids received. Then, today we find out that she was awarded for her hard work and participation in the AR program!
GO RYLIE!!!!! :)

Timberline skiing
Jen and I had a conference this past Sun-Tue down at the Canaan Valley Institute. So, we took full advantage of the fantastic weather and enjoyed time with our families down in the Canaan Valley. On Sunday we all went skiing at Timberline, and I was really impressed with their slopes...the "bunny hill" was fantastic! It was long enough to actually get in a decent run for the kids to practice their downhill techniques and they got to ride a chair lift...which is Cole's favorite!
The kids both did a really great job!! I mostly skied with Cole and Curtis took Rylie and reconnected with his ski instructor instincts to improve on the skills she learned from Jen the prior weekend at WISP.
After a few runs, Rylie was on her own and crossing back and forth down the slope!
Cole and I did the "pole" technique (?...we kinda made this up) and we went down by skiing beside each other and working on our "french fries" to go fast and our "pizzas" to slow down! He really enjoyed this little path through some trees and wanted to go FAST all the time!
I think we need to invest in some helmets!
On Monday, Keith and Curtis took the kiddos snowshoeing and swimming while Jen and I were at the conference. They had a fantastic day and are already to go again!
